Bollywood Dance Classes
"Dance has been the single most amazing discovery of my adulthood. A revolution in the way I treat my body and my mind. It is Anjali that I have to thank for this. Years ago, she introduced me to the art of performing and since then she has the power, and the magic, to transform me into an Indian goddess with the sound of a tune and the flick of a wrist. Bollywood classes have always been a blissful experience, uplifting for the spirit and an excellent treat for the body. Love them!"

"Anjali Thank you for how amazingly centred, connected and ready for anything that I feel after each class -this can only be due to your inclusiveness, super talent and passion! Anyone can come to your class -beginner, advanced or expert and you just know how to choreograph and adapt moves so all feel challenged yet successful! You have a knack of opening the inner Goddess in us all!
Professional and soulful classes that you don't even realise have worked the body to the max! I love hearing your interpretations of the background and meanings of the dance and movements, this to me adds such richness to the classes. Anjali, you really are the whole package - incredible teacher, knowledgable mentor and caring human being. Can't imagine not dancing with you Anjali and your joyful Bollywood now -you add such spirit, colour and joy to dance that others really should know what they're missing out on!"

Workshop Feedback:
Thank you to all who attended and shared in their workshop experiences. Much appreciation for your presence, participation and feedback.
" Thank you again for a wonderful workshop! Since then there's been a lot of reflection and inspiration via touch basing with beautiful friends, returning to Feldenkrais classes (as of this morning) and committing to meditation, Gestalt therapy and yoga, which happens on a weekly basis. It was a blessing to come across your work through the Transformation festival, really hope it was good experience for you as well."
~ Ann 2014 "I really enjoyed coming back to the body. I would recommend you to others." ~ 2014 "The workshop incorporated dance, play, art and meditation. It was such a beautiful mix of heart, soul and body and I came out of it feeling more connected to and loving of myself" ~ Bek 2014 "Noticed how much I miss that quiet time and why I keep thinking I need to do this more. I really enjoyed the opportunity to just 'be'" ~ 2014 "I was a little reluctant coming to Anjali's 'Moments of stillness class' but her approach and manner within the class put me at ease and I felt very comfortable. I believe we all need 'moments of stillness' in our lives. Thanks again Anjali, look forward to the next class" ~John 2013 "Moments of Stillness was a great experience. Being guided in using the senses through body and mind movement brought me to a place of centredness and stillness. This enhanced the following meditation, enabling me to that point where one feels truly connected to the Oneness. Highly recommended." ~ Bel 2013 "Anjali created a safe and supportive environment to explore different aspects of meditation, movement and art... I left the workshop feeling calm, energised, supported and smiling... I found that the teachings were brilliant as I feel comfortable in using them in everyday life! highly recommend this to everyone!!! " ~ Alyce 2013 "I found Anjali's workshop to be just the grounding, soothing and restoring experience I needed at the end of my busy week. I found the diversity of techniques and practices to open my mind, body and awareness. Anjali gently and joyfully lead us through a gentle and playful process that allowed us also to engage our imagination and creativity. I sense there was much gained for me through the experience at the time, and skills I will continue to draw on in my every day moving forward." ~ Emily 2013 |
"I really enjoyed the craft/ art aspect as an integration tool, the journalling helped bring an understanding of issues/ feelings into awareness which otherwise may have drifted away during the process of movement. All the elements shared some insights with me, fire probably the hardest and air the easiest (it would take a while to explain all the internal dialogue so I'll just say that yes it brought stuff up for me to look at. The timing of the workshop was very fitting with some other events going on in my life at the moment and I'm glad to have been able to be a part of it. It's beautiful work and very revealing and I wish you lots of blessings and success with it. Thank you for holding the circle and the space" ~2009 "I learnt that we have choices in how we structure our day and I will be reminded to try to incorporate some more play time/ creativity into my daily routine. It was a great opportunity to get out of my head and into my body.- Thank you!" ~2009 "I loved the combination of movement with art and the thought that had gone into the whole workshop." ~2009 "I enjoyed working with the combination of movement/ dance and artmaking. Also, the element of play in the various mandala artwork techniques was liberating and effective. It reinforced for me how our body carries much wisdom and knowledge regarding ourself which is not conscious. Releasing this through movement and dance is powerful. There is a natural connection between movement and art. Overall an enjoyable and insightful workshop. Well put together and facilitated." ~2009 |

"The Aatma Dance Company’s engaging high-spirited Bollywood performance generated an evening of colour, movement and fun. Nothing short of captivating - particularly after the audience was invited to join in and learn the basics of Bollywood. An outstanding night for all."
~ Vincent, Kreative Konnections 2015
"We had Anjali Sengupta of Aatma Dance Company to do a twenty minute presentation at our son's wedding reception and we got very good feedback from the guest's that were present. I felt that Anjali had put together a very good package of Bollywood Dance with well chosen numbers and energetic performance by the dancers. The segments of the presentation seem to flow effortlessly together culminating in a invitation to the audience to participate and at the end of the performance, a lot of the audience got involved and really enjoyed themselves. An artistic and engaging performance!"

"We contracted the AATMA Dance Company to perform at our Graduation ceremony in April 2012. We were so thrilled with the vibrancy and energy generated by the performance, it really set the scene for the evening and injected a whole lot of fun into our event. Anjali was utmost professional and went above and beyond by organising a live sound system for the night. A truly talented choreographer and all round lovely person – I would work with Anjali Sengupta and the AATMA Dance Company again in a heartbeat. For anyone planning a special event, I couldn’t recommend this group highly enough - 5 stars from Phoenix Institute of Australia!"

The audience was drawn into the magic and vibrancy of the experience, and as the highlight of the evening’s program, it was a fitting end to a very special occasion."
