MEDICINE DRUM MEDITATION
Are you ready to take a deep dive into yourself to find your personal medicine and bring back the answers that you seek?
Allow yourself to be lovingly held in a sacred space while being gently guided into deeper and deeper states of consciousness. Let the beat of the Medicine Drum vibrate through your body and clear your mind as we journey through the energy centres (chakras) using the breath, sound, intention and channeled drumming rhythms. Each ritual meditation session follows the map of the hero's journey as we go on a quest into the subconscious to access the inner wisdom and guidance you need at this time. I am offering these sessions in two formats- you can choose to lie down for the drumming journey in the Medicine Drum Chakra Meditation session or you can choose to move your body in response to the drumming in the Medicine Drum and Dance session. Please contact Anjali if you are interested in attending both sessions.
The medicine drum is a tool for healing and transformation that has been used therapeutically in many cultures since ancient times.

The medicine drum is a tool for healing and transformation that has been used therapeutically in many cultures since ancient times.
Benefits of drumming:
- Reduces tension and anxiety, lowers blood pressure and stress. A recent study by Barry Quinn, Ph.D. demonstrates that even a brief drumming session can double alpha brain wave activity, dramatically reducing stress.
- Releases feel good endorphins that gives you a sense of well being and boosts the immune system.
- Helps control chronic pain by promoting production of endorphins and natural pain killers (endogenous opiates)
- Drumming produces deeper self awareness and and synchronises left and right hemispheres of the brain further developing neuronal connections in the entire brain
- When the logical left hemisphere and the intuitive right hemisphere begin to pulsate in harmony, your inner guidance system or intuition becomes stronger.
- Drumming also synchronises the frontal and lower areas of the brain, integrating nonverbal information from the lower brain into the frontal cortex, producing feelings of insight, understanding, certainty, conviction, and truth which tends to persist long after the experience.
- Aligns your body and mind with the natural world. The Greek origin of the word “rhythm” is “to flow.” Drumming allows you to flow with the natural rhythms of life by simply feeling the beat.
