BOLLYWOOD DANCE FOR WELLBEING

REST & RESET-
​STRETCH & MEDITATION CLASS

​When was the last time you experienced the joy of dance?
Get out of your head and let your body do the talking with our unique and integrated Bollywood dance class that combines meditation/ mindfulness, yoga, qi gong, dance technique and physical theatre to provide a holistic workout for the mind, body, heart and soul.

When it comes to mind-body health (rather than mental health) and wellbeing, there are certain things that the body and mind needs that we all know but rarely do with intention and attention.

We all know we need to stretch- our body is practically yelling this at us everyday in the form of aches, pains, habitual tensions and ways in which we seem to love to crumple and fold our body in ways it was never designed to do!! 

Each session includes a combination of gentle stretches, dynamic and static stretches, joint openers, functional movement and gentle release followed by a guided relaxation meditation. By the end of this session, you will feel recharged and revitalised and your body-mind will love you for it!

These sessions are especially designed for mature bodies with a focus on joyful expression, balance, co-ordination, strengthening and stretching while having an absolute blast! Movements can be done seated or standing with options for those who have injuries or limited mobility.

With a holistic approach of mind-body-emotion-spirit connection, these unique classes are much more than just a fun way to stay fit. Each session includes an opening body awareness and grounding activity, isolation movement and dance based warm up, learning the dance and a gentle stretch at the end of the session.

In this session we will first move, stretch and release excess physical stress and tension held in the muscles and posture while allowing the body to find it's natural, perfect alignment. Once we are more embodied and aligned, we will then go into deeper states of relaxation through a guided meditation to help you rest and reset your nervous system and activate the natural self-healing mechanisms in the body. 
​Series 1: 4th February to 25th March 2021
(8 classes)
​Cost: Full Price- $15 per class/ $120 full term fee

Concession- $12 per class/ $96 full term fee (for those with a concession card or a pensioner/ senior citizen)
Special consideration for those who are experiencing financial hardship (make a donation of your choosing)
Series 1: 31st January to 28th March 2021 (8 classes)

​Cost: Full Price- $18 per class/ $144 full term fee
Concession- $15 per class/ $120 full term fee (for those with a concession card or a pensioner/ senior citizen)

All classes are held online on Zoom (free download to your device)
​Video recordings of each session will be available for a week after the live class.
1 booking per household!! Your family/ housemates are welcome to join in for the session.

Set up:

-Please download Zoom to your tablet or mobile from the app store or to your computer from zoom.us
-A laptop is preferable as the screen is larger which makes it easier to follow the movements in class.
-Ensure you have decent wifi (you can turn off your video to improve the connection or look into setting up a wifi booster/ extender if required)
-Ensure there is enough space for you to move without banging into furniture. 
-Wear something comfortable and colourful, take some time to set up your space.
-If you have any medical conditions or mobility issues that will affect your ability to engage in the session, please contact Anjali on info@embracingspirit.net

Cancellation Policy: 

  • Cancellation of term bookings prior to the classes start- Full refund
  • Cancellation of term bookings after the first class- 50% refund. 
  • No refunds on cancellations after the term has commenced.
  • Payments are not transferable to the next term although someone else can attend the class in your place.
